Promotional motion graphics for Spaculus Software

A selection of motion graphics and illustrated screen designs created for a short promotional animation used to showcase Spaculus Software’s app development and software services at Web Summit and on a targeted landing page.

Overview

Spaculus Software is an offshore software development company providing software solutions to global businesses across a range of industries. The company had partnered with an Irish sales representative who was showcasing their services at Web Summit, and needed a short promotional animation to help communicate their offering quickly and visually.

The full animation was created for use at the event and on a new landing page aimed at Irish customers. The project involved a selection of motion graphics, illustrated screens, and visual assets created as part of that animation.

Role

Motion design  |  Animation  |  Illustration  |  Storyboarding

I worked as the sole motion graphics designer on the project and was given full creative control over the visual style and animation approach. Spaculus provided a list of services and supporting text, and I developed the storyboard, visual direction, illustrations, mobile screen graphics, and final motion design assets from scratch.

The challenge

Spaculus needed to communicate a broad software development offering in a short, engaging format.

The motion graphics had to represent:

  • the industries Spaculus worked across
  • their focus on mobile app development
  • examples of higher-profile work
  • the range of services they could provide

The main challenge was to turn a list of services and capabilities into a visual sequence that felt clear, modern, and commercially credible, without becoming a static list of text-heavy slides.

Approach

I developed a fast-paced visual style built around clean illustration, animated mobile screens, and service-led graphics.

Because mobile app development was a key focus, I used device-based compositions and app screen visuals as the main framework for the design. This allowed the graphics to communicate the company’s offering quickly while keeping the visual language tied to software and product development.

The process included:

  • reviewing the client’s service list and supporting text
  • grouping the content into a clearer promotional sequence
  • storyboarding the structure of the animation
  • designing custom illustrations from scratch
  • creating mobile screen graphics and service visuals
  • preparing motion graphics for use within the final animation

Motion graphics

The visuals were designed to support three things:

  • Clarity: making the service offering easy to understand
  • Pace: helping the wider animation move quickly between ideas
  • Credibility: presenting Spaculus as a professional software development partner

Rather than designing isolated still graphics, each asset was created with movement and sequencing in mind. The layouts, mobile screens, and illustrated elements were designed to transition between services, industries, and product examples as part of a cohesive promotional piece.

Conclusion

🙌  Outcome

The final motion graphics gave Spaculus a polished visual system for promoting their app development and software services at Web Summit and on their landing page.

The work helped translate a broad technical service offering into a more accessible and visually engaging format, supporting the sales team with assets that could introduce the business quickly to potential customers.
