MySláinte animation series for cardiac rehabilitation programme
A series of animated patient stories and motion graphics created for Croí’s MySláinte programme, helping communicate the impact of a virtual cardiac rehabilitation service to funders and stakeholders.
Overview
Croí MySláinte is a 12-week virtual cardiac rehabilitation programme that supports participants and their families as they return to everyday life after a cardiovascular event. The programme provides information, support, and practical advice during recovery.
Croí were presenting the results of the programme to funders and needed a set of animated videos that could communicate both the human impact of the programme and the positive outcomes behind it. The brief was to visually represent the real stories of three participants, while also incorporating facts, charts, and supporting data throughout the presentation.

I worked as the sole animator and motion graphics designer on the project. The client provided the script, while storyboarding was developed collaboratively. I designed the visual style and created the animations, illustrations, and motion graphics used throughout the presentation.
The challenge
The project needed to balance two types of communication:
- personal participant stories
- programme outcomes and supporting data
The animations had to feel warm and human, while still being clear and professional enough for a funder presentation. The goal was not simply to decorate the presentation, but to help Croí communicate the value of the programme in a way that felt accessible, engaging, and emotionally grounded.
Approach
I created a visual animation style that could support personal storytelling without overpowering the narration. Each participant story was storyboarded around the script, using simple illustrated scenes and motion-led transitions to help make the narrative easier to follow.
Alongside the story animations, I also created animated facts and charts to help present programme outcomes more clearly than static slides. These motion graphics helped draw attention to key results and made the data feel more connected to the real people behind the programme.
The process included:
- reviewing the client-provided scripts
- developing storyboards around each participant story
- creating a consistent illustration and animation style
- animating story sequences, charts, and supporting facts
- preparing final videos and motion assets for use within the presentation

The final animation series helped Croí present the MySláinte programme in a more engaging and memorable way, combining real participant stories with visualised outcomes from the programme.
The work supported a presentation to funders by making the programme’s impact easier to understand — both emotionally, through the participant stories, and practically, through animated facts and data.
